1538 First Concessions and Relief
Under the ruling of the so-called Tre Leghe, Livigno is able to
gain formal and official independence granted by the Duke of Bormeo,
to use the woods and the fields. Livigno still gives one-tenth to
the roman-catholic curia in Como, maintaining the roads and bridges
and ensuring the transportation of goods throughout the region.
During this period Livigno starts developing its first own administration.
With a democratically elected village-government the inhabitants
of Livigno can improve their quality of live.
