1880 Inauguration of Alberga Alpina

Giovan Battista Silvestri, called Mìca -as he was the first one in Livigno, able to bake bread in a so called Mica-form- inaugurates the Alberga Alpina.
G.B. Silvestri can be called a pioneer of tourism in Livigno. Indeed, as a young man he worked in Engadine, he already knew about the hotel business. For a long time he dreamt about transforming the house next to his bakery into a hostel, what he finally realized in the year 1880.
