Many of the important men in politics and law, while passing Livigno
on their journey, came together here. Lots of pilgrims rested here
for days, because apart "Giusèf" Mottini's Ostarìa
there were no other hostels.
The first official tourist arrived exactly 21 days after the hotel's
inauguration and took a room at the Alpina - he was a young university
student from Harvard.
In the year 1914 "Mìca" was able to influence
the plans of the Foscagno-road so that it ended directly in front
of his hostel.
The "Alpina" got one of the most important points of
reference not only for tourists, but also for the people of Livigno,
to come together for celebrating and discussing and even for doing
all kinds of business.
