21.01.1951 Dramatic Avalanche

During the days between the 19 and 21 January in the year 1951 a great amount of snow is falling on Livigno. Even in the months before, in November and December, there were heavy snowfalls.
On January 21, in the early morning hours, an enormous avalanche rolls down into the valley, destroying some houses in the village and killing seven inhabitants.
